Preliminary Studies at Keilir

The Academy for Preliminary Studies at Keilir is intended for people who are aiming for higher education but have not completed their matriculation exam. Three types of study arrangements are available: distance learning, on-site learning and part-time learning alongside work.

Studying at the Preliminary Studies program takes about one year.

Requirements

Applicants must have at least 117 secondary school credits (corresponding to 70 senior credits), of which 10 credits should be in Icelandic, English and mathematics. The study program is credit-worthy at the Student Education Fund.

Curriculum

The program is two semesters if the aim is to study at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Law, Business/Economics or Humanities, but three semesters for those who intend to study at the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
